Nau mai, haere mai, welcome.

As mentioned in my pepeha above, my name is Vanessa White. I currently live in, and work from, the mighty Waikato. I am a trauma-sensitive specialist educator. My interest is in supporting youngsters who experience high levels of anxiety and, as is often the case, exhibit these through intense and big feelings, and in particular, those who show characteristics of giftedness.

My professional philosophy is driven by the recognition that with the right understanding and supports, we can better understand the feelings of our young people, and in turn, their behavioural expressions of these. This places us in good stead to gather and implement tools and approaches with far more likelihood of success; helping to develop resilience, healing, wellness and learning. Here you will learn the theory of safety and threat, anxiety, trauma and resilience, and how to bring this into your practice in a practical way to support those you work with - as well as yourself.

Got kids with big feelings? You’re in the right place. Welcome on this journey of learning, where we are all here for the same reasons, ultimately to support one other.

E waka eke noa - we are all in this waka together.
